Frequently Asked Questions
May we hire any caterer?
You are permitted to use any caterer you desire as long as they are properly licensed and insured.
Are we allowed to bring our own alochol?
No outside liquor is permitted at any time before, during or after the wedding. All alcohol, at all times, must be supplied through Prairie Crossing Vineyard & Winery’s liquor license. No exceptions. Abuse of this policy may lead to loss of security deposit.
If you would like alcohol to drink while getting ready, that is something we can supply for you at an additional cost.
What restrictions do you have for decorations or wedding farewells?
Any use of candles must be approved by the facility. All candles must be contained or enclosed in glass. The flame must not reach higher than 2 inches below the height of the glass.
The use of birdseed, real flower petals, and/or blowing bubbles is permitted only outside for wedding and reception farewells.
Rice, confetti, synthetic flower petals, glitter, fog machines, pyrotechnics, and sparklers are not permitted inside or outside the facility.
Decorations may not be hung from lighting fixtures.
All decorations must be removed without leaving damages directly following the departure of the last guest, unless special arrangements have been made between the lessee(s) and lessor.
When can I setup for my event?
Depending on the type of event, typically setup and cleanup time is to be included in your rental period. The standard for private parties or corporate events is a 4 hour rental period, and a 14 hour rental period for weddings (day of). If you book the night before your wedding, then you may use that time to setup.
What is the maximum occupancy?
We can hold 200 seated at round tables inside the venue and another 40-50 seated out under the covered patio.
When do I pay for my event?
For weddings, 50% of the Event Venue rental is due upon receipt of contract. The balance is due 30 days before the wedding. The initial 50% is refundable only if and when the original reserved date is filled by another wedding. In addition, a $500 refundable security deposit is due 30 days prior to your wedding and will be refunded within 10 days after the wedding occurs, provided belongings have been removed from the venue and there is no damage.
What types of beverages are available to be served at my event at Prairie Crossing?
You're welcome to choose from the current Prairie Crossing wine selections, including a specialty sangria, to serve at your event. Beer and pop are also options - types may be chosen by the customer. However, Prairie Crossing is unable to serve hard liquor due to the type of liquor license we hold.
